SODEA Exports Dates from Tunisia

Morocco is the first client of Tunisian Dates. According to statistics from the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, reported by the local press agency, Morocco is the leading importer of Tunisian Dates, with 9,096 tonnes imported, thus outstripping Italy (5,109 tonnes) and France (3,693 tonnes).


Spain is fourth with 2,576 tonnes and Malaysia is fifth (2,218 tonnes).

According to the same source, Tunisian dates occupy the first place in the world, in terms of value of trade, and the fifth, in terms of quantities exported.

This second exporting sector of Tunisian agriculture, after olive oil, recorded a record figure of export receipts, during the past campaign (2015/2016), amounting to 473 MD (exports of 110,000 tonnes).
